In 2005, Piper hosted an additional “Piper’s Pit” live show during WrestleMania 21. He was also admitted into the Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment Wrestling Hall of Fame the same year. Piper frequently was a guest on the famous “RAW!” ” and “SMACKDOWN” Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment television shows that attracted his talents and excitement into the spotlight of a new generation of custom boxing belts fans.
Piper continued to increase his fame with his “Piper’s Pit” shows and various fights and feuds between Ricky Steamboat, Zac Rider, The Miz, delph Ziggler, and many more. Roddy was not without his difficult times during this period, including injuries he suffered in an auto crash in 2005. He also received the diagnosis of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
He recovered from his injuries from the accident and was believed to be in relief from the lymphoma as of 2008 after being treated for more than one year. When his appearances on major TV shows of pro-wrestling diminished, Piper still appeared at numerous well-known independent custom leather belts events, such as Wrestle Reunion, and other well-known veterans such as Bob Orton Jr. and Terry Funk. A well-known MMA and UFC female superstar competitor Rhonda “Rowdy” Rousey (12 wins, zero losses at the time of writing), met Piper and informed her that she was an avid fan.
She asked if she could wear his “Rowdy” name, and she was able to get his approval. After learning of his death, the fighter recently dedicated her fight against Bethe Correia UFC 190 to Piper. She took the fight in just 34 seconds. Piper’s final few years were spent being on numerous television shows, including “Celebrity Wife Swap” and voiceovers for famous cartoons, appearing in comedy clubs, and taking on several acting gigs in addition to his professional wrestling custom belts obligations. Piper was never entirely out of the public eye and was even featured in the show “Celebrity Ghost Stories.”
On that episode, he acknowledged that he had seen that ghostly figure of his fellow professional athlete Adrian Adonis in 2013. Roddy most recently lived in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, Kitty. He had four kids 3 daughters and an infant son. Piper became a grandpa when his child Anastacia was born recently. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper passed in the wake of an attack of the heart on July 31st, 2015. This is a frequent cause of death for former professional wrestlers Custom Championship Belts. After a long time of pushing their bodies to the limit, I would guess that their hearts will eventually quit.
No matter what the cause of Piper’s death, Piper will be missed by the millions of people who loved his talents and raunchiness both inside and outside of the arena.
